Representatives from over 20 Local Government organisations, suppliers and councils will gather at the
national CivicView User Group 2010 in Sydney next month.
The annual two-day forum provides local government organisations from across the country opportunity to share and review different ways the CivicView management solution is used by councils and organisations of all size.
“The User Group is regularly identified as a key strength to CivicView by customers,” said CivicView’s Ben Cronin.
A range of industry specialists will cover issues such as the National Broadband Network and present developments in solid-state hardware devices. Users can review third-party applications and CivicView functionality such as specialist reporting tools and mobile devices that maximise productivity for clients.
“Customers talk with industry peers, experienced users and industry representatives to enhance product knowledge, provide feedback and find new ways to use the system to its full potential. The event also provides users opportunity to directly contribute to the CivicView development schedule, identify priorities and new system features.”
“The process of collaboration and level of customer involvement in the product is something we pride ourselves upon and, I believe, a key point of difference when comparing CivicView with council management alternatives,” said Development Manager, Peter Hodgkin.
The conference programme includes customer case studies – a review of key technology projects such as the implementation of online customer services or the application of new CivicView features. Customers review the CivicView Product Roadmap, corporate achievements and new features presentations from CivicView.
This year’s User Group host, Cobar Shire Council, based in central south-west New South Wales has been using CivicView since 1999 and credits the solution with a range of successful initiatives, including the introduction of online services for the community.
“Working together with CivicView’s team, we’ve been able to implement a number of major projects, new services and growth without any concern for the stability of the system over 11 years,” said Cobar Shire Council’s Accountant, Carol Pritchard.
“The User Group is a wonderful opportunity for the products users and creators to get together and share knowledge. There is a great feeling of camaraderie amongst the Users. Smaller users also appreciate the feeling of ownership, involvement and equality generated by the forum,” she said.
CivicView User Group 2010 will be attended by users and organisations across New South Wales and Queensland, including new sites Jerilderie, Deniliquin and Coonamble Shire Council, established in recent months.
“Each year I look forward to the User Group,” said CivicView’s Campbell Peterson. “The event provides valuable networking and strategic planning opportunities for all attendees and a chance to gain feedback and market research for the CivicView team – paving the way for us to be directly involved in the technology strategy of every customer.”
“User Group is a fantastic way for CivicView and our organisations to achieve strategic objectives,” he said.
The CivicView User Group 2010 will be held November 22-23 in Sydney, New South Wales and is open to all councils and organisations using the CivicView enterprise management solution.
