- CivicView selected to replace Authority
- Continued momentum across Western NSW Councils
Deniliquin, NSW
Hot on the back of an installation at Jerilderie, Deniliquin Council has also selected to implement CivicView – a fully-integrated management solution built for Local Government.
Developed in collaboration with Australian Councils, CivicView will replace Deniliquin’s Authority system to facilitate better integration and greater efficiencies for the New South Wales-based organisation.
“We wanted a fully-integrated management solution with the functional flexibility to handle the range of demands upon a Local Council - and improved support was a must,” said Deniliquin’s Accountant Tony Tonta, who was instrumental in the selection of CivicView.
“Throughout the evaluation process, the CivicView team remained approachable and ready to accommodate our specifics – this support is great. We’ve found the solution a neat fit for the requirements of Local Government – on a functional, support and budget front,” he said.
“The ever-increasing importance placed on assets had Deniliquin Council reviewing solutions that will fully integrate operations for some time. We’re not a large Council, and the ever increasing cost of maintaining systems is fast becoming unsustainable. We have a number of new staff members, so the timing could not be better to introduce a completely new system to the organisation,” he said.
A preference for CivicView among alternatives was confirmed following a successful implementation at Deniliquin’s neighbouring council, Jerilderie Shire Council in July.
“We were watching Jerilderie’s implementation project very closely and been impressed with the results. Before finalising my report to Council, I also visited Young Shire Council to view the system in a working environment. From the experiences of both Young and Jerilderie they were happy to recommend a move to CivicView and working with their team,” said Tonta.
CivicView Consultants travelled to perform project management, consulting and training services on-site to support Jerilderie’s Shire Council’s transition from Fujitsu, completed last month.
“We can see that CivicView’s team obviously have the experience to pull everything together and support customers through major IT projects,” said Tonta.
“We’re currently working to develop an active CivicView customer network in the Murray-Riverina Region that will maximise support for users and help them get the most from their management system,” said CivicView’s Ben Cronin.
“I’m looking forward to working with the local customer base to build on the momentum we’ve established in this region,” he said.
CivicView is implemented at a range of Government organisations and Councils across metropolitan and rural New South Wales. For more than a decade, the solution has been refined in collaboration with organisations to integrate Council business processes, information and human resources enterprise-wide to support long-term performance.
“I encourage organisations to look at the CivicView alternative,” said Tonta. “It’s refreshing to find such a functional, well supported system that meets the needs of a Local Council so neatly,” he said.
Implementation of CivicView at Deniliquin Council will commence in December to dovetail with the existing maintenance schedules for the council’s Civica’s Authority system.
