  • CivicView to integrate operations enterprise-wide
  • Technology to support long-term strategy

Jerilderie, NSW, May 2010

Jerilderie Shire Council has selected CivicView software to integrate and manage operations, enterprise-wide.

The NSW council underwent an extensive review of management systems before selecting CivicView, a solution developed and supported by Insight Informatics in Brisbane. CivicView will replace the council's existing Fujitsu system.

"It was important we went with a solution with increased functionality and improved support services, stability and a long-term strategy that would sustain us into the future," said Jerilderie Shire Council Manager Corporate & Community Services, Vicki Sutton.

CivicView will streamline council services at Jerilderie into a single, fully-integrated system including the organisation's financial management, payroll & human resources, electronic document management, asset management and customer service functions. Customised to facilitate the council's specific business processes, the solution will be rolled out in a multi-phase project by Insight's Project Management and Professional Services teams.

"The fact CivicView was built in collaboration with local government and is currently used by councils within NSW is very positive. This is the reason we believe CivicView will satisfy all our functionality, service and support requirements – all within a reasonable budget."

"We wanted to work with an Australian-owned company that is responsive – even to smaller and rural sites such as Jerilderie. Insight is ideally sized: it's not so big that we're not important - each customer counts - but the company also has sufficient resources and experience to respond to customer needs," she said.

Data conversion, implementation and training services are being coordinated by Insight's qualified project management team in a multi-phase project to have Jerilderie operating on CivicView in the new financial year.

Massive investments in product development and research have recently been made at Insight Informatics to ensure CivicView matches functionality offered by industry giants – a strategy that has already reaped reward.

Earlier this year Insight won a tender to become a "pre-qualified supplier of council business systems‟ with Local Buy, the official procurement partner to Queensland Local Government.

"Insight has been so focused upon working with the active CivicView client base that we've actually failed to adequately promote ourselves to market - as a result, many organisations don't know there is this great alternative available to them," said CivicView's Ben Cronin.

"I have no doubt councils will be pleasantly surprised to find there is a practical alternative for local governments out there, with functionality built for local government, specialist services and local support at a very reasonable price".

As a Local Buy pre-qualified supplier, councils can purchase CivicView with the knowledge that the tender process, required under the Local Government Act 1993 (as amended), has been performed through Local Buy.
